After two years of its introduction in concept form at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi is all set to unveil the production-ready E-Tron GT. We have already seen many teasers that depict the 2022 Audi E-Tron GT will look pretty much the same as the concept car. However, there will be slight changes to the side mirrors, door handles and bumpers.
The Tesla Model S rival will be built at the Böllinger Höfe facility where Audi carries out the production of the naturally aspirated R8.
Built on the J1 platform, also used on the Taycan, the E-Tron GT will offer pretty much the same power figures. However, the Audi’s creation will be less powerful than the Taycan considering the price difference.
What we know so far is that the 2022 Audi E-Tron GT will feature a Quattro all-wheel drive, an optional carbon fiber roof, all-wheel steering, torque vectoring, and more than 600 horsepower for the flagship RS version.
We are unsure if Audi also has plans to introduce the E-Tron GT wagon. If that happens, we have to wait for a couple of years to see it materialize. Those interested in an electric wagon would love to have the Taycan Cross Turismo, though.
