The all-new 2017 Rio has been revamped for a leaner, meaner look, as can be seen from official photos released by the Korean automaker ahead of the car’s debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
This is the Rio’s first major revamp after 2012, when the car got a complete ground-up redesign. The 2017 Rio has been styled to have a more aggressive look. It is longer, wider and lower with the most significant change in the wheelbase, which is 10 mm more than the outgoing model. This is expected to bump up the interior dimensions.
The fourth generation Kia Rio sports the same tiger-nose grille, which can be seen on other Kia models in the market. The interior design theme will follow the look seen in the Kia Optima and the Cadenza. The new dashboard angles towards the driver and the infotainment screen protrudes outwards to give it a “floating” look.
Details on the powertrain are yet to be revealed – it is likely that Kia will hold out on detailed information till the official debut in Paris.
