We don’t have a good understanding of the Cadillac Escalade-V. Market speculations have been rife for many years but it is just now we are receiving some kind of information. Still, the details are scarce, but at least we can now see the high-performance utility vehicle in action.
So, what exactly Cadillac has revealed alongside the photos and a teaser video? Well, it isn’t anything to be excited about, but we do not have to wait much as the official debut is scheduled for this spring. The automaker will provide full details of the utility vehicle at that time.
Cadillac has been mum on the details for the Escalade V-Series but we expect it to own a supercharged V8 similar to what’s available in the CT5-V Blackwing and Chevy Camaro ZL1. The standard Escalade is available with a 6.2-lire V8 generating 420-horsepower (313-kilowatt). The Blackwing mill pumps out 668 hp (498 kW) while the Camaro creates a power of 650 horses (484 kW).
While we do not have any substantial information regarding the powertrain, at least we can tell you about the exterior and interior through five photos we have received from Cadillac.
It appears like a standard Escalade but possesses some unique features. The front fascia is distinct with a fresh mesh grille and an updated lower bumper. The daytime running lights get fresh, sportier-appearing cases.
At the back, the additions are a little more delicate, but we can find a new lower valance as well as the four big, round exhaust tips. There is just one interior image that shows a new V emblem on the steering wheel. We expect the interior to have more V-Series features. Augmenting the Escalade-V’s exclusive visuals is the blacked-out trim substituting the chrome elements.
Cadillac earlier announced their intention to ditch the V-badged vehicles after the introduction of the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings. Unless the company changes its plans for the XT4, XT5, and XT6, the Escalade-V should be the last petrol-powered V-series vehicle ever.
For more details, we have to wait for the official debut this spring. While we have no idea of the reveal date, we believe the automaker will start a teaser campaign before its launch. Until then we have to make do with the growling V8 sound.
