The luxury brand of Hyundai has unveiled the 2021 Genesis G80 at its official Instagram account boasting a sophisticated look. It was supposed to make its worldwide debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, but as we all know, the event was called off due to coronavirus threats. While this is just an online unveiling with a few pictures, it reveals a lot about this luxury sedan.
Looking at the pictures, we must say we are impressed. The sedan takes its inspiration heavily from the GV80 SUV. The same “two line” theme of the SUV runs all over the exterior. The big shield grille gives it an aggressive look. While we really liked the design of the GV80, the sedan gets even better.
The interior also borrows lots of elements from its SUV sibling. We can see a huge landscape 14.5-inch touchscreen display and ash wood trim in the pictures. There are some other features the sedan carries over from the SUV, such as, the pressure-sensitive rotary dial and opposing leather shades.
Although the powertrain details are still a mystery, we can make a good guess here because the 2021 Genesis G80 uses the same platform as available in the GV80. We are expecting either a 2.5L four-cylinder or a 3.5L V6.
The pictures and these details have made us very excited but we want to know more. The pricing and other specifications are still missing and we have to wait for the official debut to discover these facts.
