The British automaker has unveiled the 2021 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster boasting stunning looks, a brawny twin-turbocharged V8, and a luxurious interior. Fans would also love the optional seven-speed manual option. The best thing about this roadster is the fastest roof operation for any convertible in the world.
The 2021 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster stays true to its mission, offering the same performance and handling that you would get in the coupe. Borrowing the twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 from its counterpart, the car can generate the power of 503 horses and 685 Newton-meters of torque. The power routes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. This huge power enables the roadster to hit 96 kilometers per hour in only 3.7 seconds that’s a touch slower than the coupe, which takes 3.5 seconds for the same. The maximum speed is limited to 306 km/h.
Aston Martin’s “Z-Fold” roof mechanism is highly advanced and lightweight. The deployment takes 6.7 seconds only, while the reverse operation completes in 6.8 seconds at the speed of 50 kilometers per hour.
The Vantage Roadster isn’t just fast on a straight line, it is using all the good features of its coupe sibling to deliver an unmatchable performance. The sports car gives the option of three driving modes including Sport, Sport + and Track.
“Convertible sports cars are often seen as compromised when compared to their Coupe equivalents,” Matt Becker, Aston Martin Chief Engineer says. “But the Vantage Roadster remains absolutely dedicated truly to its mission of delivering precise, agile and expressive handling dynamics combined with stonking straight-line performance. And of course, there’s the added dimension of driving a great-sounding sports car with the roof down.”
The 2021 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster will start at $161,000, which is $15,000 more expensive than the coupe. So, do you like the coupe or the roadster? Whatever you like most, you can pre-order now and receive it in the 3rd quarter of this year.
