2017 Audi A4 Crash Results
IIHS reports that the maximum intrusion reached only three inches at the footrest and the dummy’s head hit the front airbag. The previous Audi A4 scored a ‘poor’ rating in the IIHS small overlap test as the intrusion reached 11 inches at the footwell, pushing the steering column towards the driver and damaging the dummy’s head. In addition, the door also opened up, creating a possibility of the driver flying outside the car in case of a real accident.
In other trials including moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, the 2017 Audi A4 scored a ‘good’ rating.
The 2017 Audi A4 was unveiled in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show and wears a price tag of $38,250.
